Love by Scooter the dog

ScooterThe following article is written by my dog, Scooter. Today he wants to tell you all about Love.

My name is Scooter. I’m a dog. I’m a Havanese, so I’m little (and cute!). I want to tell you a story about Love.

I came from a dysfunctional family. There was this people family of three kids, a wife and a husband. The husband would lose his temper and physically abuse the wife. With help, the wife decided to leave and developed a plan. They had a female Havanese dog (my mom) and the wife decided to drive all the way to Edmonton to mate it with the top Havanese male dog (my dad) in this part of Canada. Her plan was to sell the puppies and make enough money to leave her husband. She almost did it but the abuse became bad. My siblings were sold and I was left behind. I was shut up in a basement for 3 months. I was lonely and I didn’t get socialized. Who would want me now?

Scooter too!In comes Love. A great family heard about me and they bought me, socialized me, gave me a big brother, named Oliver, and taught me how life can be good and friendly. I was a frightened little dog, but not any more. I have lots of love and am now a proud Havanese who believes in himself!  I am so grateful. I feel loved.

Thanks heavens for Love – it saved my butt!

Breath Exercise

This is both a calming and a cleansing breath. You can use this in times of distress. Find a quiet moment and give yourself two minutes of de-stressing. Gently close your eyes and focus on your belly. Breathe into your belly and allow your belly to expand. Invite air to float up into your ribs and feel your ribs expand and open up. Then bring the air into your higher chest. Hold for a count of four. Then begin to exhale and feel your chest releasing, your ribs releasing, and gently bring your belly in. Just as you are almost complete in your exhalation, open your mouth and exhale through your mouth any leftover stagnant energy. Hold for a count of four. Continue to do this for 7 cycles. You will be amazed at how much fresher you feel.
