Tasting vs. Talking

Have you ever tried to taste a word? A very wise monk in Japan said that at this time of year we hear and say so many beautiful words… joy, love, appreciation, and more. His message to me was “don’t talk them, but instead taste them”. I have always remembered this sage advice. If you taste them, your whole being reverberates with the true essence of these words. When we taste them, rather than say them, our vitality, health and happiness reflects the true depth and power of these words. This is good!!

This is my experience. Let’s take the word joy. As I say “joy”, I focus on the sensation of it rolling off my tongue, and visualize myself actually tasting the word as it comes out of my mouth. I found as I focus on tasting it rather than saying it, I can feel sensations go through my entire body. It’s like my heart pops open and I feel really good!

I feel we can bring a whole different meaning and sensation inside of us when we taste words that hold a lot of power and love. It really helps with our creativity and wisdom quotient! Give it a try.

This is such a powerful season. I know there are many of us who are missing loved ones. It is a very sentimental season. For all of us, this season is a heart opener as we all hold those we love close to our hearts.

Remember that when our hearts are open, we have the opportunity to grow inside and retrain our monkey minds. This is everywhere in literature. We don’t grow from negativity or worry, we grow from imprinting the good thoughts and feelings we want inside of us.

How do we imprint? By having an open heart, and coming from a feeling of openness to love and appreciation.

This is a great season to imprint more openness and loving ways of being in life. Taste the lights, music, and spirit of this season. The more lightness we imprint, the more our creativity and smartness increases. We build beautiful sense memories inside of us. We want to bump out any old sense memories that don’t support us.

Great loving memories strengthen our immune system and our health and happiness quotient! I truly believe our health quotient goes up the happier we are.

So let’s all strengthen our immune system through “tasting” and “feeling” the depth of words that open our hearts.

Releasing Internal Pressure

writingMy son became seriously ill when he was 12. I was scared to death. I was a basket case when I reached out for help. I found Bev’s Releasing Internal Pressure exercise a miracle worker for me. I wrote until I ran out of ink!! All my thoughts and emotions came pouring out of me. I wrote fast and furiously. I could feel my breathing deepening the longer I wrote. And then I focused on the Internal Flashlight. That was a tough one for me. My monkey mind was out of control, but I could do it better after the releasing internal pressure. Then I could work on staying in my body.

You really need support and tools when facing a crisis. I taught the Internal Flashlight to my son and he loved it. He actually found one of our flashlights, and would turn it on and say to me that he is concentrating on good stuff.

My son, by the way, has successfully gotten better.

Talk about gratitude!

At the end of each day, close your day with a gratitude meditation. Begin with the present moment and go back over your day to when you first awoke. Find the beautiful moments in your day and feel gratitude. In so doing, you acknowledge yourself and everyone around you.
