I’d like you to uncross your legs and close your eyes. Take some deep breaths in and out. Be particularly aware of the exhalation as you release any stress, any tension and breathe in the breath of life.
Now what I’d like you to do is start from this moment right now, and go back over your day to the moment you woke up. As you go back over your day scan it for moments of gratitude. Acknowledge gratitude for that moment. So we’re starting from the present moment and then slowly we’re going right back through the day to when we first woke up. Quietly do that now, expressing gratitude for those special moments.
Then quietly take a deep breath and when you open your eyes I want you to look down and then slowly look up.
Sometimes when I do the gratitude meditation, I’m in awe of all of the beautiful moments that have been there for me. If I had not taken three minutes to reflect, I would have missed them. I would have simply taken them for granted.
