I asked Bev to use the name Judas because I keep saying to myself that I know better. That is why I went into counselling. I do know better, but I just keep doing the same thing over and over again. I really like Djokovic’s quote, “my conviction is stronger than my thoughts.” And I am a tennis player, so it has even more punch to it. I find I need the help of my friends to challenge my thoughts. I am a man and I talk to some of my male friends. I also tend to listen (to the friends I respect). I started doing this as one of my homework assignments in counselling.
It’s too tough to do it alone.
I am inching my way forward, and that is better than going backwards or staying still!
I love my kids, and they are keeping me moving forward. It is important for me that I am a living example of what I want to teach them.
Signed,
The slow learner determined to get there
