My Christmas Wish for You

December 12th, 2012

“May you experience a good laugh, a long sleep, and an open heart.” Merry Christmas, Bev

Holiday TreeWhat a year this has been! Real ups and downs. The opportunities for growth have been momentous. At times, I have felt that life is like having a “root canal” and at other times it is like floating on a cloud of possibilities and gratitude.

The mind is unlimited. How we interpret events is unique to each one of us. This is the pivotal point of growth and opportunity.

It’s Christmas. My Christmas wish for you is that you play with being in the NOW. I challenge you to really find out what that means for you, and what it does for you. December can be a month of connection, love and gratitude or it can be a month of frenzy, exhaustion and monetary expense.

Pull yourself into the now by focusing on your breath. Use conscious breathing. Change is a choice.

Being the moment can be about simple noticing and feeling. For example, I invite myself to notice the chair that I am sitting in; notice the pen moving in my hand; feel the texture of the rug beneath my feet. These are simple acknowledgements, but they pull me into the now. In the now I am open to being in my heart. Aren’t I fortunate to have a chair, a pen, and a rug!

Your personal power lies in the present moment. Keep strengthening this muscle. This is your job.

If you practice your routine exercise of clearing the mind skills, you can deepen your wisdom and creativity – it is worth going for.

I love the lights of Christmas, the love in people’s hearts at this time of year, the giving and receiving, the connection and the feeling of community.

Be awake and observing. Pause to notice. Breathe and pull yourself into the present moment. Merry Christmas!

Or the month of Dec. can be a particularly difficult time to get through with lack of daylight, family and connections because all ones usual group activities stop because “everyone is so busy at xmas”.An annual hazard.

Hi Bev, Merry Christmas! Do you have CDs that I can purchase, rather than downloading off of the internet? Just hearing your voice calms me and makes me feel well – what a compliment to you!! xo Sandra

Mastery Practice Tool

Self-Governing

Take 15 minutes of quiet time dedicated to being clear about what you want for yourself, and how you are going to get there. Using this analogy, imagine you have 3 levels of self-government:

What does the Executive part of yourself want?

What is the Legislative part of you doing or going to do to ensure this happens?

How is the Judiciary part of you offering a space where you can learn, make a mistake, and keep getting stronger rather than judging yourself as being less than or a failure?

This is a tool to monitor ourselves, then watch and review how we are doing. Enjoy!

Testimonial

My daughter, Trinity, attended her first Children’s Empowerment Workshop and she loved it! It has helped her deal with some of the real anxieties that all children go through - from the not so nice kid at school, to the imagination that runs away with her at night time, when we are getting ready for bed.

She practices her rooting and the different breathing techniques that she has learned, and has become stronger and more confident in dealing with different situations.
