Thank Heavens for Laughter by Marion

August 7th, 2012

Our guest writer this month is Marion. She shares with us the joy of a real belly laugh.

Orangutan LaughingI used to laugh a lot.  When I was little, I was told I had a huge belly laugh.  It was contagious and people would laugh with me at my hearty laugh.  Then life happened!  I stopped my belly laugh and learned to passively smile.  It’s very different.

In counselling, I got my belly laugh back!!  We had to deal with a few “issues” (ha, ha), but I have found myself again.  I know that because I can REALLY laugh.  I listened to Bev’s Mastery series and I started laughing with her and everyone while I was chopping carrots at home.  That started the whole ball rolling.  I haven’t laughed like that in years.

Thank heavens for laughter… and it’s free!

Mastery Practice Tool

The Biggest Gift

This practice exercise is one of the most powerful gifts you can every give yourself. Feel the love you have for a partner, a child, a pet, or nature... really let yourself feel it. Notice the sensations in your body. It is important we experience this in our bodies rather than it being a mental exercise. Then look in the mirror, or at a picture of yourself and send yourself that feeling of love. Keep letting yourself feel it. Notice the sensations in your body. When our body feels it through these sensations, then we are internalizing it as an experience of truth. This is a practice exercise of unconditional love that will influence every part of your life.

Testimonial

Bev's Laughing and Breathing Belly Workshop for Children was one of the best I have attended. She has a gifted ability to gently connect with children and teach and share with them her techniques of belly breathing, rooting, mind vacations and laughter. These techniques soothe and calm them whenever they feel overwhelmed or anxious - be at school, home or before bed time. Whether you have an overwhelmed pre-schooler or a test-anxious pre-teen, Bev's approach works! I love that she gave parents the tools to model and share these fundamentals of meditation with their children. I would encourage families to take her course...your children will thank you and you will benefit from ways to keep yourself calm and allow wisdom in.
