I asked each one of my daughters what they stood for. At first, they rolled their eyes and said “Oh mom, here you go again.” I nodded and they sat back, took a deep breath and mentally moved into reflection. I asked them how they wanted to live their lives rather than what they wanted to do.
Eldest Daughter
I stand for:
Living a life of happiness where I am truly happy.
Having lots of different experiences rather than the same one over and over.
Being loved and loving someone.
Being positive and lowering any anxiety, so I can move forward.
Living a fulfilled life.
Youngest Daughter
I stand for:
Integrity. Being honest with myself and true to my friends.
Being part of a family that is a community of support and love.
Open mindedness. Being open to new ideas, thoughts and experiences.
Ah, such wise young women who already know what many people don’t realize until much later in life – if then. When we don’t know where our North Star shines, much time is lost wandering through the desert. Beverley, thank you for the gifts of your wisdom!
Oh my goodness how wonderful to hear from you!!!!!!
We talk about you all so much.
My love to you and thanks for your comments.
Holly and Srey took it very seriosly and this is their compass!!
Much love,
Bev
